Way to go you found Mercury.
Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. It looks very similar to our moons, that is because in a lot of ways it is. However it circles the sun making it a planet, a moon on the other hand circles another planet. Mercury has no moons but the Earth and many other planets do. Can you find two of Mars's moons and the Earth's?

MERCURY
Even though the planet Mercury is the closest planet to the sun it isn't the hottest. That is because has no atmosphere like the planet Venus does, therefor the heat it receives from the sun escapes faster, yet it is still the second hottest planet in the solar system. Temperatures on Mercury can reach over 700 degrees above Fahrenheit. Venus's temperature can reach over 950 degrees Fahrenheit.
